In this how-to i will show you how to find the original picture used by somebody as their avatar / profile picture!

This works with any picture and any Steam user / group profile picture. This works with users with private profiles too.

Why do i need to find the original picture used in an avatar?
► You want to find and download the high resolution version
► You want to use it as your desktop wallpaper
► You want to see the rest of the picture which was cropped by Steam
► You want to check that somebody uses their REAL PHOTO, not a fake picture found on Internet

► You want to get more information about the profile picture (if it's from a movie, anime, TV show, what is the character's name...)

In steam, go to the user's profile

In steam or while in game from game overlay, go to the user profile of the user you want to get the avatar from.

If you don't know how to view someone's profile page, you can usually do this by right-clicking the user then "View profile".

You can also do this by using a regular browser like Chrome or Firefox.
